I went down to St. Louis to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. While it wasn’t the grandest of celebrations, it was still good and I’m glad I got to spend time with a quality friend.

The Rosary

The Rosary

So, I finally found out what the Rosary is all about. Sure, most people probably have known forever, yet not me.

I did some searching on google, reading wikipedia.org entries yet these are the two best I found:

I also found http://www.rosaryarmy.com/ for making your own rosary and giving them away… which seems like a great idea. I think I will be doing that (just need to order the supplies).

So, somewhat excited about this. I think praying to the Rosary will help me with prayer and get closer to God. Since I am just starting out, using a pre-defined prayer structure would be very helpful to me, as just ‘winging it’ may not work well.

I called my church and talked with a Father there. He said that I could pray on the rosary or whatever manner I want to pray, I don’t need to be a Catholic to do that, so that’s great! He also said that I can pretty much do what other people in Mass do other than take communion, so glad I went by my gut and didn’t take it on Sunday (it just didn’t feel right at the time).

It will probably be a while before I am able and finally decide to be a Catholic, going through RCIA, yet I am excited about my future path on this. I think it’s where I am supposed to be going, it feels right. Since I am normally a person that lets things happen naturally and go with the natural flow, this fits perfectly.
